Easy Apple Cider Vinegar Lemonade

LemonadeUnless you live under a rock, you know that drinking is bad for your liver.  Yes, even wine.

Although a glass or two a day can prevent heart disease, you’d do much better to cut down on animal products and reduce alcohol intake.  I know, no fun.  Not that I’ve done this–most evenings tend to find me enjoying a nice glass of red or white, like any other wine lover.

However, you can offset the damage by incorporating regular, gentle liver detoxes into your diet.  Below is a recipe that you can make easily, drink as much as you want, and have a glowing liver to show for it.  All the ingredients are either beneficial for, or harmless to, this vital organ that filters our blood.

One lemon

One tablespoon raw apple cider vinegar (Braggs is easy to find)

Two cups water

A few drops stevia to taste

Quarter lemon and squeeze juice into a glass. Add other ingredients and mix, adding ice if you like.  Makes one serving.

P.S. This recipe is about 5 calories!  And here is a Livestrong.com article about using apple cider vinegar to detox the liver.
